How I Went from Infertility (PCOS) to 2 Beautiful Children and a 6-Figure Business

How I Went from Infertility (PCOS) to 2 Beautiful Children and a 6-Figure Business

After my second birth, my OB-GYN straight up told me: "You should have 10 kids! It's like you were designed to make babies."

I bursted out crying.

It was only 6 years after I heard the most devastating sentences of my life. It was another OB-GYN telling me: "You wouldn't be able to have kids."

This is the story of how I went from infertility to two beautiful kids and a six-figure skincare business.

Ayurveda changed my life!

It all started when I was 21. (Actually, it probably started way before that, but I didn't know.)

At 21 I didn't know much about life, especially not what I wanted to do with mine.

But I always knew one thing.

That I wanted to be a mother.

I quit smoking at 21 because I read somewhere that it might take up to 7 years for all the toxins to fully leave your body. (For some reason I always pictured myself having my first baby at 28.)

Coincidentally a couple months later I met the love of my life.

After being on birth control pills since I was a teenager, at 21 I decided to stop those as well and let my body recover. Find its own rhythm.

The only problem was, it didn't really start to recover.

I didn't have my period for 11 months.

That's when I was diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance.

“You wouldn't be able to have kids" - explained the doctor. Multiple other doctors confirmed.

In fact, I was headed down the fast track towards diabetes.

Devastating.

But I wasn't willing to accept this.

I went to doctor after doctor, specialists, eastern medicine, massage, acupuncture - you name it.

Some helped a little, some didn't.

But none of them addressed the underlying cause. The root of the problem.

Until one day I heard about this Indian doctor from a friend who had been through similar issues.

Apparently, they had opened an Ayurvedic Center in Budapest - where I grew up.

I booked an appointment and showed up.

It was the middle of summer so I stepped in from the humid heat of the city to the cooling, dim basement center. The air was filled with sandalwood incense and there were Indian Goddesses pictured on the wall. As I took off my shoes at the entrance I thought to myself - “Maybe I shouldn’t have come here”.

I didn’t know what to expect. I've already seen dozens of Western specialists and alternative doctors leading up to this moment.

Most people told me not to waste my time on “holistic medicine”. But I was already fighting PCOS for 5 years.

Honestly, I was burned.

But I was also desperate.

They didn't ask for any medical records, or what my symptoms were.

Barely even knew my name.

I literally showed up, the doctor grabbed my wrist, placed his fingers on my veins, closed his eyes, and just listened for a minute. (This is called pulse-diagnosis - as I later learned.)

The first question he asked was: “When did you get your last period?”

I was stunned. How did he know?

Then he started naming every single one of my medical conditions.

One after the other.

Sometimes using medical terms, sometimes just describing exactly what the issues and causes are in plain terms.

It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life.

As it turned out later, he was a 3rd generational doctor from India - meaning he learned this stuff from his father, who learned from his father.

Then he would add: "No problem, just come in for treatment 5 times a week for 3 weeks and you'll be fine."

Fineee???! Whaat?

It would have been hard to believe if it didn't happen to me.

But I had to give it a go. So, I started the treatments.

To the naked eye, it didn't seem like much; oil massage, steam sauna, diet, taking a couple of herbs and tea.

Boy - did it work!

I felt like I was reborn.

Later the doctor explained that the way to think about it is: that my body was clogged - this could not be removed by simple lifestyle changes. That's why the medicine and the other treatments didn't work because my body wasn't able to absorb any of it. The Ayurvedic treatments were able to bring back the toxins to my digestive system. From there the body can easily get rid of them.

This way, the body can finally heal itself.

Isn't this the most amazing, reassuring thing?

Your body can heal itself.

The next year I didn't miss a single period.

It was like clockwork.

By the end of that year, I was pregnant with my son and it took us less than 3 months to conceive.

Also, my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience were all amazing.

No wonder why I became obsessed with Ayurveda. I read all the books I could find (including the original textbooks from 3000 years ago). I also got certified as an Ayurvedic Coach.

Here I am now with 2 beautiful, healthy, and loving kids! I am forever grateful and devoted to Ayurveda. My mission is to spread the word and educate people about this powerful ancient system.

That's why I started Kerala - an Ayurvedic skincare business. I wanted to bring a small piece of my life-changing experience to your daily skincare routine.

I believe beauty starts from within.

It's a balance of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

But as I age I also realize - what you put on your face does matter.

Please don't settle for the $10 serum from CVS. Do you think that's gonna do any good for you in the long term?

Quality over quantity is the name of the game.

Recently I launched my first product; an Ayurvedic Vitamin C Face Oil. This product blends ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with modern scientific discoveries.

It's been only a few months, but the people who tried it are raving fans!

I'm transparently sharing my journey on this blog - including details about how the formula for the Ayurvedic Vitamin C Face Oil was made.

Please leave a comment or reach out if you are on a similar journey, I'd love to hear your story.

PS: Remember the friend who recommended Ayurveda to me in the first place? They were also trying to conceive for 6+ years. She tried everything, but nothing worked. They got pregnant 2 months after the Ayurvedic treatment.
